Anna Nicole Smith!
Anna Nicole Smith was born Vicki Lynn Hogan in Mexia, Texas in less than favorable conditions. Her parents divorced early in her childhood and she grew up under the guidance of both her mother and aunt. After a collage of dead end jobs, Anna Nicole began her career in the entertainment industry when she graced the cover of Playboy magazine in March 1992. By 1993 she was a full fledged Playmate of the Year. Her captivating look was noticed by Guess? President Paul Marciano and she became their primary female model. Her Guess? Jeans campaign soon became one of the most successful of all time. Her image since has graced the pages of such magazines as Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair and People. Her success in print spilled over into other mediums such as movies and television. This former pin-up has appeared on a string of television sitcoms and talk shows, including "Ally McBeal," "The Howard Stern Show," and more recently "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn." Anna Nicole appeared in the Hollywood movie, "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult" in 1994, but her most notable success is her reality series "The Anna Nicole Show." Anna and her friends starred in this reality show about her daily life. "The Anna Nicole Show" debuted on the E! Entertainment Network, and it's premiere captured the highest viewership of any reality TV show with a rating of 4.1. During it's run, "The Anna Nicole Show" was consistently among the network’s highest rated programs. Recently, Anna began working hard to slim down. She teamed up with the global health product manufacturer Trim Spa to use and promote their completely Ephedra Free product. She has had amazing success and lost a significant amount of weight, meeting her goal in January 2004.
Anna Nicole Appeal Nixed
At the rate it's shrinking, Anna Nicole Smith's bank account might as well be on TrimSpa.
The San Francisco-based 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday rejected the model's latest bid for $88.5 million from her late husband's estate, upholding a three-judge panel's ruling in December that Smith was not entitled to the hefty sum.
Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 after meeting him at a strip club--she was 26 and he was 89. He died 14 months later, and ever since the billionaire's assets have been the subject of a legal tug-of-war between Smith and one of Marshall's sons, E. Pierce Marshall, in courts from Texas to California.
While this is not the end to the reality-TV star's quest for the multimillion-dollar booty she claims she is hers, she's running out of options.
Smith's attorney, Howard K. Stern, said he would make a last-ditch appeal to the Supreme Court--although it's unlikely the justices will hear the case.
"The 9th Circuit's ruling is not based on the merits of the case," said Stern.
Pierce Marshall's camp disagreed, saying the case should never have advanced beyond Texas probate court. "The basic principle we think is very sound is if you pursue a probate claim in a probate court, that's the only place you should pursue it," Marshall's attorney, Eric Brunstad, said Thursday.
In 2001, a probate court jury in Houston ruled that the younger Marshall was indeed the legitimate heir to the late oilman's estate, a decision that effectively shut out Smith.
But Smith's legal team was also pursuing the case in federal bankruptcy court in California, which initially awarded the former Playmate $450 million. That amount was lessened by U.S. District Court Judge David Carter, who, nevertheless, ruled in March 2002 that Smith was owed some cash since she was legally married to Marshall. In the judge's 80-page ruling, he said that although the relationship of Smith and Marshall was "driven by greed and lust" the judge was "convinced of [Marshall's] love for her." He said she was due the $88.5 million.
By making his decision, Carter overturned the Texas probate court ruling.
Thursday's ruling affirms a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals December decision that Carter overstepped his judicial authority in even hearing the case in 2002. In the December decision, the appellate justices wrote, "It is undisputed that Texas law governs the 1982 trust and the last will and testament of J. Howard Marshall."
The technicality slowed Smith's chances of collecting the loot, and Thursday's validation of the earlier three-judge panel's ruling has all but killed Smith's big payday--save a Supreme Court miracle.
Smith, 36, whose legal name is Vickie Lynn Marshall, was not mentioned in any of J. Howard Marshall's six wills. She has yet to comment on the latest ruling.
Anna Nicole's New Weight -Loss Secret
Anna Nicole Smith says the secret to her stunning weight loss is to take TrimSpa with a particular kind of chaser. When asked at the lounge Curves inside the Aladdin Casino & Resort in Las Vegas what she would tell dieters, Smith told Star they should take TrimSpa and a "colon cleanser." She laughingly explained: "When I was really thin but not losing some of the problem spots, I tried the colon cleanser and that just knocked the pounds off! You take those two together and you can't go wrong!" Smith added that she plans to continue to work for TrimSpa --and it looks like the paycheck may come in handy. On Dec. 30, a court ruled that a judge who awarded her $88.5 million from the estate of her late husband, J. Howard Marshall II, didn't have the jurisdiction to do so. So now her fortune is tied up again in court. Smith's attorney, Howard K. Stern, says they're prepared to fight it all the way to the Supreme Court.
Anna Nicole's lawyer vows to appeal court ruling
Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer vowed to ask a federal appeals court to reconsider after it ruled that the former Playboy model turned reality TV star is not entitled to $88.5 million from her late husband, an oil tycoon who married her when he was nearly 90.
Howard K. Stern said Thursday he would ask the full appeals court to rehear the case and would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
Smith, who first gained fame as Playboy's 1993 Playmate of the Year, was 26 when she and oilman J. Howard Marshall II married in 1994. He was 89. They had met three years earlier when she was working as a stripper.
Marshall died in 1995, and Smith and Marshall's son, E. Pierce Marshall, have battled over his estate ever since.
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a Texas probate court's decision that the son was the oilman's sole heir should stand. The panel said the federal judge in California who ruled in Smith's favor in 2002 should never have even heard the case.
"After nine years of litigation, I'm very pleased by the judgment issued by the 9th Circuit upholding my father's wishes regarding disposition of his assets," E. Pierce Marshall said in a statement.
But Stern said the court, "on a legal technicality, reversed the judgments of two federal courts that found massive fraud and other wrongdoing by E. Pierce Marshall by which he deprived (Smith) of the property that her husband intended her to have."
Smith has not received any of her late husband's estate. The $88.5 million was put on hold during the appeals process. She has recently been seen on E! Entertainment Television's "The Anna Nicole Smith Show."
A federal court ruled in 2002 that Smith was entitled to compensatory and punitive damages because the younger Marshall altered, destroyed and falsified documents to try to keep her from receiving money from his father's estate.
Thursday's ruling reverted to the findings of a Houston probate judge, who had ruled the son is the sole heir -- and does not owe Smith anything.
Smith filed for bankruptcy in 1996. As part of its ruling, the 9th Circuit said the bankruptcy court should now hear testimony on other charges she made that the court had disregarded. Included among those was that the younger Marshall exercised undue influence on his father in making his will.
Anna Nicole Smith gets stripped of $88 million
Not only does it appear that the “Trim Spa” poster child Anna Nicole Smith has lost control in the public eye, just recently A U.S. federal appeals court has reversed a judgment that awarded the former Playboy centerfold $88 million from the estate of her late elderly multi-billionaire husband J. Howard Marshall.
Initially a federal judge ruled that the dying 90-year-old J. Howard Marshall did indeed love Anna Nicole Smith, who was 64 years his junior, and in 2002 awarded her $88 million, that made headlines as being an extremely bitter battle between her and the oil tycoon’s son. The judge ruled that the son had launched a campaign to discredit Anna Nicole Smith and hijack her of her rightful inheritance.
As of December 30, 2004 in San Francisco, a panel of three-judges reversed the deicsion , stating that she was not mentioned in the trust or will therefore is not entitled to the $88 million.
This is the second judgement that was thrown out of court, the first being a $475 million judgement that she was awarded in 2000.
“Although J. Howard Marshall II was married to Vickie Lynn Marshall, no provision for distributions of income or principal of the trust estate was made in favor of the settlor’s spouse,” Judge Robert Beezer wrote.
Anna Nicole Smith’s birth name, Vickie Lynn was used in court.
“The route followed by the parties to this appeal on their epic journey is a tortured one indeed,” Beezer also wrote.
So this may explain her recent actions, or maybe not. But there is no doubt that she has become a household name, so she may be smarter than everyone gives her credit for.
Anna Nicole lost in court battle
Federal appeals court reverses $88.5 million award to Anna Nicole Smith
A federal appeals court has voided a ruling awarding more than 88 (m) million dollars to former Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith.
The money came from the estate of her oil tycoon husband, who died at age 90 about a year after they wed. The two met while Smith was working as a stripper. The couple married three years later when she was 26 and he was 89.
The Ninth U-S Circuit Court of Appeals backed a Texas court's decision that the oilman's son was his sole heir. The appeals court says the California judge who ruled in Smith's favor two years ago should never have even heard the case.
The decision comes after nearly a decade of legal wrangling.
The Anna Nicole Show Blurring the Line Between Celebrity and Reality
With a past that has included a husband over 60 years her senior, numerous nude photo spreads, and a handful of soft-core video shoots under the auspices of Playboy's Hugh Hefner, the idea of following larger-than-life former Guess? Jeans model Anna Nicole Smith around for a reality television show must have sounded like a can't-miss prospect to cable TV execs.
And while E!'s "The Anna Nicole Show" has slipped into a strange new situational reality mode for its second season amid dropping ratings, the spectacle of Anna doing what she does best--that is, just being herself--continues to prove irresistible for die-hard reality-television fanatics everywhere.
Born in Mexia, Texas, on November 28, 1967, the future star did time as a hostess before eventually turning to a profitable career as a stripper. Though her subsequent marriage to elderly multimillionaire J. Howard Marshall at 26 made headlines around the world, they were eventually overshadowed by reports of the legal battles between Smith and Marshall's family over the fate of his fortune since his 1995 death. She cites the ongoing case as part of her reason for hopping on the reality-TV bandwagon.
"I'm doing it because I've been stuck in the house so long from the litigation," she said in a pres conference after the show was announced last year. "When E! came, it was just the perfect time for me to get out. It's just to have fun with the show and get out of my house."
Anna Nicole Smith is one of the most annoying people of 2004 by Star Magazine
#1 It's A Tie!: PARIS HILTON & BRITNEY SPEARS
BUG us, baby, one more time, and we're gonna scream!
Britney is the pop princess who seemed to do everything this year -- but sing and dance. (A knee injury led to the cancellation of her U.S. tour in June -- all together now -- awww!) She went from a blink-and you'll- miss-it marriage in January to in-your-face honeymoon bliss at year's end. Brit, what more can you do in 2005? Hey, we know you'll make a great mom!
Britney and childhood friend Jason Alexander were married for 55 hours -- in a row! You don't always have to look glam to leave the house, but come on! It was kinda cute the first time; now we're wondering if she knows any other words.
Thankfully, we'll always have Paris: your average multimillionaire exhibitionist and reality TV star with a tiny dog. So, what's so annoying? Well, she's everywhere! You can't escape her partying -- and her private parts. Hard to imagine that the star of one of the most famous sex videos of all time could be, well, overexposed. On the other hand, Star has to commend you -- you are a good sport and have great style. We can't deny that you live life to the... hilt.
#2: ANNA NICOLE SMITH
FOR starters, Anna ended up losing a lot of weight and looking better than ever. OK, we admit it, we're jealous! And even though she was annoyingly disoriented at the AMAs, the blonde bombshell sure was smart with her behind-the-scenes dealings -- putting TrimSpa on the map and signing up her own clothing licensing deal for a collection called Anna Nicole.

Diddy Digs Anna Nicole at VH1 Event
For rap mogul P. Diddy, the “VH1 Big in ‘04” awards were about one thing – Anna Nicole Smith – well, ok, and himself. “I can’t even recognize her. She lost a lot of weight,” noted Diddy about the controversial TrimSpa gal. “I saw her at the American Music Awards – I hope she tops that.” Oh, not to worry. Anna Nicole, who was quiet on the red carpet due to “laryngitis,” was certainly up to her old antics on stage where she slurred her words and attempted to show the audience her new cup size before a VH1 staffer finally pulled her away. “You have to have people like Anna Nicole to make this world a good and a fun place so I’m proud of everybody who makes this world interesting,” added Diddy, who was honored with the Maverick Award for service to the community.
The event, hosted by a cheesy Nick Lachey, included presenters Usher, Ellen DeGeneres, Tommy Lee, Paris Hilton, Jim Caviezel, Serena Williams, Joss Stone, Josh Duhamel, Stevie Wonder, and many more. Fans jumped to their feet with adrenaline-fueled performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Maroon 5, and Velvet Revolver, but no one got emotions going more than filmmaker Michael Moore. When presented with the “Big Boat Rocker of ‘04” award from Sharon Stone, most of the audience gave him a standing ovation while others booed and heckled during his speech.
Other big winners included Jamie Foxx, Donald Trump, the cast of “Arrested Development,” and gold Olympian Paul Hamm, who was lowered down onto the stage holding on to gymnastic rings.
So what was the biggest highlight in ’04, according to Diddy? “I was one of the hot things and there were some other dudes who were hot but I have to be honest, I don’t watch a lot of TV,” he responded. “I’ve been really focused on working so I’m going to find out at this show. If you’re like me and don’t really know what happened in ’04, tune in so you can see what’s hot.” The awards air on VH1, Sunday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m.
Anna Nicole In the Limelight Again
Ooops she did it again, the “Trim Spa” poster child, Anna Nicole Smith is back in the limelight. This time it took place at the VH-1 music awards that was being taped in front of a live audience on Wednesday night.
Good thing it was being taped because Anna Nicole whipped out a huge bra that she said she used to wear before she started on her Trim Spa diet. The producers had to send in the troops to get her off the stage as it looked like she was about to highbeam the audience.
This is second time that Anna Nicole has got into the news while on stage at an awards show, the first was the American Music Awards which was live. Could this be the true Anna Nicole or is this just a publicity stunt to promote Trim Spa or her show?
No matter what it is , it does make for interesting news.

Diet Company ''Trimspa'' stands with Anna Nicole as her friend
The diet pill company that helped Anna Nicole Smith slim down is coming to her defense after the model/reality show star's bizarre appearance at Sunday night's American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Like all our customers, we stand by Anna," Trimspa founder and CEO Alex Goen said in a statement Monday. "More important, we stand with her as our friend."
Smith, 36, was on hand to introduce rapper Kanye West early in the show. Wearing a curve-hugging black and red gown, she asked the crowd, "Do you like my body?" and appeared to be disoriented and manic as she introduced West as "freaking genius." Cameras abruptly cut away from Smith at the end of the introduction. Host Jimmy Kimmel was supplied with fresh material for the entire ceremony because of Smith's antics, saying things like she "gave the best performance of the night."
Kimmel also implied she was high: "I told her to stay away from Snoop's brownies," Kimmel said, in reference to a mock bake sale rapper Snoop Dogg was having backstage. "Clearly last night’s award ceremony has become more about Anna’s introduction of Kanye West than about who won the prized awards -- which is unfortunate," said Goen. "Those artists worked very hard to have their moment of recognition, and Trimspa applauds their success."
Anna Nicole speaks about her Trimspa diet
Anna Nicole Smith has exploded the myth about her famous diet plan. It's all down to pills, colonics and hours on the toilet. The busty model, who slurred and stumbled her way through a speech at the American music awards on Sunday, reportedly lost 69 pounds on the TrimSpa diet, and has always insisted the plan is in no way harmful.
But, in a new interview , Smith admits the diet has taken its toll on her. She says: "You eat, like, small portions and you do it for, like, two weeks, and also they have a colon cleanser and you're just, like, on the pot all the time… You lose that weight quickly. "I do take two pills a day to maintain (the diet), you know."
Also in the candid interview, Anna Nicole admits she took painkillers after the death of her oil tycoon husband, J Howard Marshall, and went into a coma. She adds: "I almost died. I had to learn how to walk again and all this and that. It was hard and if you have to go into rehab, oh my goodness, it is not fun. "They tear you down. They tell you you're nothing. They say you're crap. They say stuff like: 'You're no better than anybody else.' It's just horrible."
Is Anna Nicole really fine?
Anna Nicole Smith had to be carried off stage at the American Music Awards after her slurred speech was cut . She had arrived at the ceremony 10 minutes late and then appeared drunk on stage as she introduced rapper Kanye West's act. Producers panicked when she began her babbling speech with words like "Like my body?". After being led away from the podium she staggered around backstage, and had to be helped by bodyguards. The reality TV star then fell onto the gift table with a maniacal grin on her face and had to be lifted up by an unknown man.
Anna insists her current state of mind has been swayed by her recent weight loss and constant taunts about being stupid. She said, "I liked me better bigger because now I'm too bony. I'm just portrayed as some bimbo, and never taken seriously." Anne Nicole's lawyer, Howard K Stern, claimed she had not been on drugs or drunk. He said her behaviour was due to her bad eyesight. "She couldn't really read the teleprompter because she has bad eyes," Stern told the New York Post . "She flubbed a line, but she's fine. Anna did numerous other interviews afterwards where it was obvious that she's fine."
Anna Nicole Smith against animal cruelty
What about cruelty to dead guys like J. Howard Marshall 2nd?
He was the 89-year-old, wheelchair-using oil tycoon who was briefly married to Anna Nicole Smith before expiring of old age (and dying happy, one hopes) in 1995. Now the recently trimmed-down but still buxom former Playboy Playmate and reality-show star - who turns 37 in a couple of weeks - is slagging off her moribund spouse on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
"My late husband gave me two fur coats years ago, but I've never worn them - and I never will," Smith vows on the occasion of her new PETA poster, in which she impersonates the famously fur-loving Marilyn Monroe under the slogan "Gentlemen Prefer Fur-Free Blondes."
"I'm a huge animal-lover and have three dogs - Sugar Pie, Marilyn and Puppy," Smith says. "How can anybody who calls themselves an animal-lover wear fur?" The campaign was inspired by a recent Marie Claire magazine survey in which eight of 10 men claimed real fur was a "horribly cruel" turnoff.
