Who is your favorite swimsuit model?
I love Roshumba Williams! She has that sparkle in her eye that makes her look like a classic doll You know a lady is confident by the look in her eyes.
Which models inspire you and why?
I remember when I was 13 years old I bought a Roshumba Williams book to learn the industry as well as her experiences as a model- basically a guide to become a supermodel. I loved when she was the spokes model for Elite Model Look USA-- that was inspiring to me! I always dreamed of her book coming to life for me and maybe one day she would be able to tell me in person. My dreams are now a reality-- thanks to Roshumba Williams, NBC, PB&J and Sports Illustrated. I would also like to include Jessica Miller as an inspiration. I know she has not had it easy and of course being from Las Vegas, Nevada-gotta give props. The industry won't take you seriously no matter what it is-- modeling, music, acting etc... Jessica has shown them that it is possible to be someone from Vegas by making the Calvin Klein campaign. I also admire Kate Moss. She has set the record straight to let the world know that height is not an issue. I know it was hard for her to get in the industry because the height requirements but she made it. I am glad that she broke the ice so all girls in the world have a chance. Thank you, Kate Moss ;-}

Why do you want to be an SI swimsuit model?
I have a passion for sports and being a model--especially an SI swimsuit model. SI is one of the most widely read magazines in the world-who wouldn't love to be an inspiration to both men and women through SI's pages? I always watched the SI girls on TV and my heart would beat so fast - I felt like I was one of them. I would pose like them in the bathroom and take Polaroid pictures of myself. Even though the pictures did not come out like SI, I tried. I remember telling my mom I wanted to be a swimsuit model at the age of 7. And at the time, my step dad, Chris, told me he believed in me. My mom did too. I will never forget that. It encouraged me so much I had my first fans-- my family & God.
What made you decide to try out?
I knew I had a chance like every girl in the world. I knew I had a good chance- not in a stuck-up way, but in a confident way. I believe in myself and I was not afraid or scared to take this opportunity. I knew if I passed this up I would have never known how far I could go so I ran with it. I had nothing to lose!! Plus if I won the million dollar contract I would have an amazing start in my career I would be able to take care of my family and be successful.
Any advice you would give to an aspiring swimsuit model?
I would like to start out by saying life is not easy and being a swimsuit model- or any type of model - makes it even harder. The rejection in this business is like having someone you love tell you you're not good enough. If you love and have the passion to be a model, the best thing is to know who you are. Never let anyone tell you you're not good enough because you are! A woman's value alone is precious. I remember my first photo shoot on Oct 31st 1998Â… I thought I was ready to be the NEXT big model but I was just starting out. That's how bad I wanted it. I knew someday it would be my turn, but when? It has taken me six years of preparation and rejection to get to where I am today. As I look back in time I see that everything has happened for a reason. I never stopped. If you ever feel like giving up don't! What you want will be right in front of you waiting for you to reach out and accept it ;-} Will you ever reach out? I've been through so much as a young woman, and because of that, I feel that I can speak on behalf of all women with similar aspirations. I understand and know what you are going through — just believe in yourself. If you don't, no one else will! Life motto: Do it yourself because no one else will do it for you.
